Count your blessings

How green is the grass on the other side?
How often do we take things for granted?
I was reminded of this when I celebrated the countdown to Merdeka in college. We invited orphans to college where we became 'kakak abang angkat' to the orphans. And i was the committee member for deco and gifts.




 But the best part is i became a kakak-angkat with Dey Eng and we got Hidayah, a 14-year old girl as our adik-angkat.



And while we were having dinner, the girl finished all her rice and chicken until it was Bone-Clean! And oh of course i didn't finish mine..i felt guilty looking at my plate. :(
It was then when i realised how often we took things for granted, and often complain about the yucky dm food. I should be thankful.

We also had a colouring contest, and we won 1ST PRIZE! Woohoo!:D

Ta-da! its finished!

It was a long day, but it was definitely worth-while. :) I even got back the present i bought and wrapped.
It was an eye-opener to see those orphans, reminding us to be thankful for what we have. Imagine not having a mom or dad, no family, and not-knowing where you came from or who you are. Living together with many other kids like you, yet feeling lonely and hollow inside. Truly, i thank God for giving me a home and a family.
I must count my blessings.
