To mend a broken heart

1st poem of the year is out! But please don't think it's negative and all. I happened to get inspired when my light cure base plate for partial denture broke in half. I tried gluing it back but to no avail. And come to think of it, when hearts break, how do you put the pieces back together again?

To Mend a Broken Heart

What do you do to mend,
to mend a broken heart?
How do you get it back
to the way it was at the start?
How do you put back the pieces
of the shattered, broken parts?

Humpty Dumpty shouldn't have sat
on the castle wall,
If only he knew, if only he'd known,
There'll be a great big fall.
Now all the king's horses and all the king's men,
Couldn't put him back again.

What could i do to mend,
to mend a broken heart?
For stitches, glues and sutures don't work
All's futile, it's just so hard.
If only i knew, if only i'd known
I can't mend a broken heart.
